University of Washington programs make top 10 in new global ranking

The Center for World University Rankings (CWUR), publisher of the largest academic ranking of global universities, has released their global rankings of academic disciplines for 2017. UW’s Oceanography program ranked 2nd, Fisheries ranked 4th and UW’s Geosciences, multidisciplinary ranked 5th in the world. The University of Washington overall ranked 9th for institutions with the most Top-10 placements worldwide.

Many members of PSC are associated with the university’s School of Oceanography, School of Aquatic and Fishery Sciences (SAFS) and Department of Earth and Space Sciences (ESS) either as faculty, advisors, shared research staff, students, or alumni. Congratulations to these departments for their far-reaching accomplishments and recognition.
