Alex Huth

Alex Huth is a graduate student in the Department of Earth and Space Sciences under the supervision of Ben Smith.  He is interested in using remote sensing observations to study ice sheet dynamics in Antarctica and Greenland.

Alex arrived at the Polar Science Center in 2014 from Cornell University, in Ithaca, NY, where he studied Earth science and music.  In Ithaca, he was introduced to remote sensing while working on research using satellite interferometry to examine the aseismic and coseismic deformation between Saudi Arabia and Eurasia.  In a second project, he used remote sensing of ocean color to constrain dead zone growth in the Gulf of Mexico.

In his free time, Alex enjoys exploring the outdoors and playing keyboards in the local Seattle band, Lowlands.
