Welcome, Dr. Jessica Badgeley!

PSC is pleased to welcome Dr. Jessica Badgeley to our ranks! Jessica’s research focuses on how ice sheets and glaciers respond to climate shifts – from glacial-interglacial transitions to seasonal cycles to modern climate change – and how this response translates to societally relevant questions related to sea level rise and freshwater resources.

Jessica’s research has laid groundwork in using formal ensemble data-assimilation techniques to combine observational data with numerical models to study Earth’s climate tens of thousands of years in the past. She’s looking forward to expanding the number and quality of proxy records and climate models used in this work and to refine data assimilation approaches. She comes to PSC via a postdoc at Dartmouth College and a PhD from UW’s Earth and Space Sciences Department. Please welcome Jessica!
